Laxmi Capital Market and Sunrise Capital Merge to Form LS Capital; Commence Integrated Operations from Monday

LS Capital, the result of a merger between Sunrise Capital and Laxmi Capital Market, commenced its unified operations on Monday, 23rd Poush, 2080. The culmination of this merger was marked by an official ceremony at the company's headquarters in New Baneshwar, where Sumed Bhattarai, Chairman of former Laxmi Capital Market Limited, and Apach Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Sunrise Capital Limited, announced the commencement of the integrated business.
Having obtained approval from the Company Registrar's office on November 29 to operate under the name Laxmi Sunrise Capital Limited, LS Capital is poised to redefine its presence in the capital market. Rajeev Sapkota has assumed the role of Chairman, while Bijayalal Shrestha continues as the Chief Executive Officer, ensuring a seamless transition.
With a successful history of three decades dedicated to uplifting the capital market, LS Capital is committed to providing top-notch services to its clientele. The company envisions carving out a distinct identity through cutting-edge service facilities following the merger. The leadership anticipates expanding its footprint in merchant banking and investment banking, leveraging modernized technology to strengthen its services and create a unique standing in the securities market.
Post-merger, LS Capital boasts an integrated paid-up capital of Rs. 48.89 Crores, solidifying its position as a successful player in Nepal's capital market. With a track record of managing over 200 public share issues, 41 securities issues through bidding, and 52 share guarantees, the company has been a key player in shaping the market landscape.
In addition to overseeing portfolios of 300 individuals valued at approximately Rs. 64 Crores and managing nine mutual funds, LS Capital currently administers seven mutual funds, including an open-ended mutual fund. The company manages assets totaling Rs. 7 Arba, including the Laxmi Sustainable Energy Fund, a Rs. 1 Arba private equity venture capital fund, and serves as the share registrar for 32 companies. Impressively, LS Capital has facilitated the opening of over 330,000 demat accounts, reflecting its extensive reach in the market.
