In a bid to recover from the extensive damage inflicted by the catastrophic flood on Ashadh 2, 2080, the Lower Piluwa River Small Hydroelectric Project (990 kW) has initiated reconstruction efforts. Operated by Shuvam Power Limited (SPL), the project suffered a halt in electricity production since the date of the flood. However, recent developments indicate significant progress in the restoration process.
Following meticulous testing and repair work on the electrical equipment, the project is now poised to resume its vital role in electricity generation. With reconstruction nearing completion and connections to the powerhouse and switchyard underway, the project is expected to reinitiate electricity production imminently.
In a formal request, Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) has urged authorities to authorize the commencement of electricity generation from the project starting from the 22nd of Jestha 2081. This request underscores the readiness of the project to contribute to the regional power supply once again, marking a pivotal step towards recovery from the setback caused by the natural disaster.
