Lumbini Lions Club Emerges as Highest Spender in Nepal Premier League Auction
The Lumbini Lions Club, a prominent cricket franchise in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), emerged as the highest spender in the recent auction organized by the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), investing Rs. 84,75,000. The team features notable players, including Nepal cricket team captain Rohit Paudel, alongside Bibek Yadav, Sandeep Jora, Arjun Saud, and Surya Tamang.
The Lumbini Lions purchased Bibek Yadav, Sandeep Jora, and Surya Tamang for Rs. 15 lakhs each, along with other players such as Aashutosh Ghiraiya and Tilak Raj Bhandari for Rs. 10 lakhs each, Durgesh Gupta for Rs. 8 lakhs, Arjun Saud for Rs. 5 lakhs, Dinesh Adhikari for Rs. 2.75 lakhs, Abhishesh Gautam for Rs. 2 lakhs, and Bikash Aagri for Rs. 2 lakhs.
Ishwar GC, chairman of the Lumbini Lions Club, expressed excitement about assembling a talented team, emphasizing their strategy to unite top talents to compete for the championship. The NPL auction included 142 shortlisted players, and the season will kick off on November 16 in Kathmandu, featuring a total of 8 teams.
