Mandu Hydropower Limited (MANDU) has increased the capacity of its Bagmati Small Hydropower Project from 22 MW to 32 MW. The company has obtained the updated electricity generation license and successfully finalized the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the enhanced capacity.
The project, originally operating at 22 MW, suffered significant damage due to heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides on Ashwin 11 and 12, 2081. According to the company, reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure is currently underway and is expected to be completed in the near future, after which the plant will resume operations.
Mandu Hydropower Limited has expressed its commitment to restoring the project and bringing the upgraded 32 MW facility into operation as soon as possible.
