MetLife Foundation Expands Community Impact Grant Program to Nepal
MetLife Foundation has introduced its Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP) in Nepal to support nonprofits addressing local challenges. Three organizations were awarded grants focusing on Hunger Relief and Nutrition, Physical and Mental Well-being, and Environmental Sustainability, benefiting over 16,000 people in underserved regions.
- Action Against Hunger will receive $100,000 to improve food security in Belaka, Udayapur, aiding 5,000 people through nutritional education and counseling for mothers.
- NIVAS was granted $88,000 to empower 10,000 people, particularly women, through land access, housing, and skill development, promoting well-being.
- Solucham will use $50,000 to train 1,000 youth in environmental sustainability in Solukhumbu.
These initiatives collectively aim to foster nutrition, housing, and environmental stewardship in Nepal. MetLife Nepal's General Manager, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, emphasized the grants' potential to strengthen communities and empower future generations.
