MetLife Nepal Organizes 'Food for Health' Initiative to Support Homeless Ahead of Dashain and Tihar Festivals
As part of its global "Volunteering with Purpose" campaign, MetLife Nepal organized the "Food for Health" initiative to support around 1,700 homeless individuals in ashrams across Nepal ahead of the Dashain and Tihar festivals.
Over 100 MetLife associates and field force members volunteered over three days at 24 branches of Manavsewa Ashram.
The volunteers prepared and served meals, assisted with personal care, cleaned the premises, and engaged with residents through cultural activities and prayer sessions, fostering a sense of compassion and community service.
Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, highlighted that the initiative addresses immediate needs while fostering hope and dignity in underserved communities.
MetLife has operated in Nepal since 2001, offering life insurance, accident and health insurance, and employee benefits. Globally, MetLife, founded in 1868, provides financial services in over 40 markets.
