Microfinance sector fell this week after continuous last two week rallies; Hydropower sector lost the most by 6.02%; Weekly Wrap up of the NEPSE index

NEPSE Index movement:

The Index opened at 1263.84 points and closed at 1238.56 points with the loss of 25.28 points (2%). Market was bearish this week, index kept on losing points. On the first trading day the index was down by 4.20 points, on Monday index lost 4.55 points, on Tuesday index continues its fall thus, lost 9.36 points, on Wednesday index was up by 2.75 points and on Thursday index was down by 9.92 points. 

Candlestick pattern:

On a daily candlestick pattern, no specific pattern was observed and on the weekly basis, a type of bearish marubozu has observed.1238.56 is the lowest point and closing for this week. Bearish marubozu supports the downtrend.

Exponential Moving Average:

We have used EMA's of 5 days' time period (blue line), 20 days' time period (red line). At present, NEPSE Index is below both 5 days EMA and 20 days EMA. Value below moving average usually is bearish signal. Dead cross signal was generated by moving average on 29th of July,2019.

Moving Average Convergence and Divergence:

MACD line (blue) and the signal line (red line) are in negative zone. Histogram is also in negative zone which shows market could fall further in upcoming days.

Fibonacci retracement method:

Looking from low of 1102.32 to high of 1349.38, Fibonacci retracement shows major support of 50%   is at 1224 and 61.8% is at 1195 level.

 Support and resistance level for next week according to Pivot Point.

Pivot Point- 1247 point

1st Resistance-1257 point                1st support-1228 point

2nd Resistance-1276 point               2nd support-1218 point

Conclusion: All major indicators are supporting for the downtrend.

Prediction: Low volatile downtrend.
