Mountain Energy Nepal Posts 15.81% Profit Growth in Q1; Annualized EPS Reaches Rs. 53.97

Mountain Energy Nepal (MEN) delivered an impressive first-quarter performance for fiscal year 2081/82, posting a net profit of Rs. 30.53 Crores—a 15.81% increase from Rs. 26.36 Crores in the same period last year. This growth was fueled by a rise in power sales revenue, which climbed to Rs. 49.6 Crores compared to Rs. 45.48 Crores in Q1 of the previous fiscal year.
A strategic reduction in finance expenses by 8.01% further supported MEN’s profit, though administrative expenses saw a slight increase of 8.90%. MEN’s paid-up capital rose by 15%, reaching Rs. 2.26 Arba from Rs. 1.96 Arba, which strengthened its financial base. Although assets in property, plant, and equipment declined by 2% to Rs. 2.8 Crores, the company made progress in financial stability with an 11.61% decrease in long-term borrowings, reducing them to Rs. 2.91 Arba.
The company's annualized earnings per share (EPS) hit Rs. 53.97, while net worth per share reached Rs. 158.77. With a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 12.23 and a market price per share of Rs. 660.
