MP Binod Chaudhary Responds to Alleged Land Embezzlement, Condemns Political Maneuvering
Nepali Congress Member of Parliament, Binod Chaudhary, a prominent figure in both politics and the industrial sector, has appeared before the public prosecutor's office to provide a statement regarding an alleged embezzlement case involving a 10 ropani land associated with Bansbari Leather Shoes.
Following a two-hour-long session, MP Chaudhary addressed reporters, expressing his discontentment at the politicization of the issue. He lamented the transformation of the matter into a political spectacle and voiced frustration at the necessity of repeatedly defending his character.
During his interaction with journalists after the statement, Chaudhary emphasized the importance of the state recognizing the message conveyed by Nepal's entrepreneurs and taxpayers when individuals of his stature raise concerns. He refused to entertain those who use his character for political gain, stating that such activities discourage entrepreneurs and investors.
Chaudhary highlighted that aside from viewing the 10 ropani land as a symbol of luck, there was no other implication. He stressed his extensive experience spanning 45 years, including roles as the former president of both the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). He underscored his involvement in development policy and his ability to navigate differences of opinion within party politics.
Furthermore, Chaudhary suggested that the intention behind the Bansbari case was to politicize entrepreneurs and investors, which he deemed detrimental to the economic climate.
