Nabil Bank and Smart Ideas Pvt Ltd Join Forces for Card-Based Remittance Services

Nabil Bank Limited and Smart Ideas Pvt Ltd (Hamro Patro) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch card-based remittance services.

The agreement allows users of Hamro Patro's calendar app, particularly those outside Nepal, to send remittances by accessing the 'Remittance' feature in the app.

Users can send between $100 and $5,000 using international MasterCard or Visa cards, with recipients in Nepal receiving funds immediately in any bank account.

Nabil Bank has offered the nRemit service through the nBank app since December 2022, and this collaboration marks the first open banking initiative in Nepal, as stated by Adarsha Bazgain, Deputy General Manager of International Business at Nabil Bank.

Both organizations aim to streamline remittance, strengthening the Nepali banking sector.

Nabil Bank has been a key player in Nepal's banking industry for 40 years, serving over 2.4 million customers through its extensive branch and ATM network.
