The National Assembly has given approval for the withdrawal of the 'Immigration Bill, 2076 BS,' as presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha. Minister Shrestha, responding to inquiries in the assembly, explained that the decision to withdraw the bill was influenced by recent changes in national and international contexts. In addition to the withdrawal of the Immigration Bill, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat put forth a proposal for a discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the fiscal year 2081/82.
The National Assembly approved this proposal, setting the stage for deliberations on the fiscal allocation and priorities outlined in the upcoming budget. The next meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled for February 29 at 11:01 AM.
