National Children's Day 2081: Kidpower Nepal and Laxmi Sunrise Bank Host Safety and Self-Defense Training

On National Children's Day 2081, Kidpower Nepal and Laxmi Sunrise Bank organized a week-long safety and self-defense training program across the Kathmandu Valley. The program, which ran from Bhadra 25 to Bhadra 28, 2081, involved over 200 teenage girls from public schools in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts.

Participating schools included Gandhi Adarsh Secondary School, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, Shree Siddhi Mangal Secondary School, and Adarsh Secondary School. The training was overseen by school officials and Laxmi Sunrise Bank representatives.

Key figures like Mr. Gaya Prasad Upadhyay and Mr. Min Bahadur Achhami emphasized the benefits of integrating such training into the school curriculum and committing to future sessions. Bandana Ghimire and Mr. Ram Babu Regmi highlighted the importance of this training for creating a safer learning environment.

Chief trainer Sushma Pokharel from Kidpower International Nepal, along with assistants Mr. Krishna Prasad Khanal and Ms. Sunita Pokharel, led the sessions. Pokharel stressed the need for safety skills due to increasing security issues and announced plans to expand the program nationwide. The training focused on experiential learning, which is deemed highly beneficial.
