National Stock Pitching Competition – 2024: A Resounding Success Across Nepal
The National Stock Pitching Competition – 2024 in Nepal took place successfully across all seven provinces from Baisakh 23, 2081 to Jestha 06, 2081. Winners from each province gathered for the grand finale at Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) on May 31, 2024. Organized by the KUSOM Finance Club and supported by the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN), the competition saw participation from top institutions nationwide.
The grand finale was attended by notable figures such as Dr. Nabaraj Adhikari, Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal, Dr. Bijay KC, Dean of KUSOM, Mr. Prajwal Upreti, Executive Member of SBAN, and Jayant Srivastav, General Manager of Siprabi Securities.
Provincial winners included:
1. Koshi Province: Kasturi College, Itahari
2. Madesh Province: Birgunj Public College, Birgunj
3. Bagmati Province: Boston International College, Chitwan
4. Gandaki Province: Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara
5. Lumbini Province: New Horizon College, Butwal
6. Karnali Province: Mid-West University School of Management, Birendranagar
7. Sudurpaschim Province: Galaxy Multiple Campus, Dhangadhi
Bagmati Province had additional finalists from Shankar Dev Campus, Kathmandu College of Management (KCM), and KUSOM. These teams presented detailed stock investment strategies to a panel of judges, with each team given 15 minutes for their presentation followed by a Q&A session.
The top three winners were:
1. Team Mt. Manaslu from Kathmandu College of Management (KCM), who impressed the judges with their comprehensive study and innovative stock selection strategy, earning a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, a one-year subscription to Smart Wealth Pro, and various other gifts.
2. Team Invincible from Shankar Dev Campus, securing a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and similar rewards.
3. Team B.A.P from KUSOM, winning Rs. 10,000 and additional prizes.
The judging panel included experts like Mr. Shulav Shrestha, Acting CEO of NIMB Stock Markets Ltd, Mr. Bigyan Bhandari, Head of Research at Kumari Capital Limited, Mr. Sudeep Aryal, Scheme Manager at NMB Capital Limited, and Ms. Shraddha Pant, Chief Investment Officer of National Capital Limited.
