NBA to lobby for broker license to banks' subsidiary; Looks upon two more issues

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) demands broker license for Banks. The meeting held on Wednesday has come up with the demand that the banks who have already submitted the application to NEPSE by fulfilling all criteria should be granted the license to provide broker service via a subsidiary company.

In addition to that, the association has also presented their concern regarding the new interest spread calculation changes made by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the impact it might have in the banking industry and the entire economy. NBA has decided to write to NRB about these issues and to carry out discussion to come up with constructive solutions.

In the third order of business, NBA has brought its attention to the accounts where some media has attacked the bank or bank's personnel to destroy their image through unsupported contents. NBA has decided to meet and collaborate with Nepal Press Council to address this issue.
