NCHL and Mastercard Partner to Enable QR Payments for International Tourists in Nepal

Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) and Mastercard have signed an MoU to enable international tourists in Nepal to make digital payments using Mastercard cards through NEPALPAY QR and Interoperable QR systems.

This partnership aims to offer tourists a seamless “Pay like a Local” experience, boosting digital transactions at nearly 1 million QR-enabled merchants in Nepal.

The initiative is expected to strengthen Nepal’s tourism sector by improving international payment convenience. NCHL operates various national payment systems, while Mastercard serves over 3.1 billion cardholders globally with innovative payment solutions.
