NEA Initiates Dialogue to Resolve Long-standing Electricity Tariff Dispute with Industrialists

Newly appointed Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Mr. Hitendra Dev Shakya, initiated a discussion on Chaitra 29, 2081, with industrialists regarding disputed electricity tariffs under dedicated and trunk lines since 2072. NEA urged industrialists to submit applications to a review committee with a 5% deposit, following government directives.

In response, industrialists requested the implementation of a report led by former Supreme Court Justice Girish Chandra Lal for a fair resolution. This meeting marks a positive step toward resolving the long-standing issue and strengthening cooperation between NEA and the business community.
