Neelam Dhungana Appointed as Acting Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank

Neelam Dhungana, currently serving as the Senior Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, has been appointed as the Acting Governor of the central bank. The appointment was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the decision was taken in accordance with Section 27 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058. This provision allows the government to designate an acting governor when the post becomes vacant or the sitting governor is unable to fulfill their duties.
Dhungana, one of the most experienced officials at the central bank, will now take on the key responsibilities of overseeing Nepal’s monetary policy and ensuring financial stability until a permanent appointment is made.
