Nepal Launches REEEP-GREEN Grant Scheme to Promote Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development

Nepal has launched the REEEP-GREEN grant scheme under the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme to promote energy-efficient practices and sustainable development.

Managed by Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBBL), the scheme offers grants to industries and enterprises with high energy-saving potential to implement energy efficiency measures identified through certified energy audits.

The initiative aims to foster green growth, preserve natural resources, and enhance competitiveness by reducing energy costs, improving productivity, and lowering carbon footprints. It also emphasizes environmental standards, circular economy principles, and decent work practices.

The program, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Union, and GIZ, demonstrates Nepal’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability while encouraging the broader adoption of energy efficiency measures through blended financing and sustainable practices.
