Nepal Makes History with First Export of 40 MW Electricity to Bangladesh Today

Nepal is making history today by exporting 40 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh, marking the first time the country has supplied power to a nation other than India.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) spokesperson Chandan Kumar Ghosh describes the event as a historic milestone. The export has been made possible through permission granted by India’s Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, enabling the transmission via Madhya Pradesh.
This achievement follows a tripartite agreement reached on October 3 among senior officials from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, with NEA’s Executive Director Kulman Ghising signing on behalf of Nepal.
