Nepal ranks 147th in Human Development Index Ranking for 2019; Report published by UNDP

The Human Development Index Ranking published by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has ranked Nepal at 147th position.

The Human Development Report provides the ranking on the basis of following factors:

  1. Human Development Index (HDI)
  2. Life Expectancy at birth (ADG3)
  3. Expected years of schooling (SDG 4.3)
  4. Mean years of schooling (SDG 4.6)
  5. Gross national income (GNI) per capita (PPP $)

On each of the above mentioned factors Nepal secured 0.579, 70.5 years, 12.2 years, 4.9 years and $ 2,748.

Our neighbour countries India and China ranked at 129th and 85th respectively. The first position is bagged by Norway, followed by Switzerland, Ireland, Germany and Hong Kong at second, third, fourth and fifth position.
