Nepal Welcomes Over 72,000 Foreign Tourists in August 2024

Nepal welcomed over 72,000 foreign tourists in August 2024, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.

A total of 72,719 international tourists visited Nepal during the month, marking an 8.29% increase compared to the same period last year when 67,153 tourists arrived in August 2023.

This figure also represents a 76.75% increase compared to August 2020 when the number of tourists had declined due to the spread of COVID-19.

The top five countries with the highest number of tourists visiting Nepal in August were India, China, the United States, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Among these, India topped the list with 25,832 tourists, followed by China with 6,614, the United States with 5,614, Sri Lanka with 4,851, and Bangladesh with 3,077 tourists.
