Nepali Congress Candidate Ram Chandra Paudel has Been Elected as the New President of Nepal

Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Paudel has been elected as the new president of Nepal.

Ram Chandra Paudel previously held the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Nepalese House of Representatives. In the general elections of 2022, Paudel also won the seat of Member of Parliament. His nickname among Nepali Congress Troopers is "Ram Chandra Dai". He was selected by the Nepali Congress in February 2023 to run for president of Nepal in the 2023 election, with the backing of 8 other parties, including the CPN(MC). Today, he has been elected as the new president of Nepal.

Bidya Devi Bhandari, who was the nation's first female president, has been replaced in her post by Paudel. Before being chosen as president, she was chair of the All Nepal Women's Association and deputy chair of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist).
