Nepal's Weather Outlook: Partial Influence of Local and Westerly Winds, Chance of Rain and Thunderstorms Across Provinces
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of local and westerly winds, along with a low-pressure area extending from Uttar Pradesh, India, to Eastern Bangladesh.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the current weather across the country is partly to generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in some areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in one or two locations in other provinces. This afternoon, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will experience fair conditions. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in isolated spots elsewhere.
A weather bulletin issued this morning indicates a possibility of storms in isolated areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Koshi provinces. Additionally, there is a chance of light snowfall in a few high-hilly and mountainous regions. Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely in some areas.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is anticipated in several areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in isolated spots elsewhere. The Department has advised the public to remain vigilant due to the potential for thunderstorms in isolated areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Koshi provinces.
In Kathmandu Valley, normal rainfall is expected this afternoon, with temperatures ranging between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius.
