Nepal’s Young Math Debaters Shine in Global Math Debate League 2024
The latest Global Math Debate League (GMDL) edition celebrated Nepal’s young math debaters. In the Alpha Category, Euro School Bhairahawa's Aadhya Pandey, Harshit Pandey, and Gayatri Aswani triumphed, along with Euro School Hattigauda's Nysa Loonia, Kapish Agarwal, and Aarna Agrawal.
Other winners included Elvira Maharjan, Niya Palungua, and Nitya Raut from Genius IB World School and Aaradhyan Pande, Aryan Das, and Liza Parajauli from Euro School Chhauni. Sanskriti International School’s team, Safal Ongel Gurung, Shivangi Rana, and Ronak Sancheti, also claimed victory.
In the Beta Category, Ankuram Academy, Kumudini Homes Secondary School, Imperial World School, Kaasthamandap Vidhyalaya, and Pathshala Nepal Foundation each had winning teams showcasing outstanding performances.
GMDL, a competition for grades 5 to 8, encourages structured math debates that promote critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving. Divesh Bathija, a Global Math Story Teller, noted that GMDL helps students view math beyond numbers by building confidence and communication skills.
Embark UnMath Private Limited (EUPL), in collaboration with Embark Education Network and UnMath School, is transforming math education in over 400 schools in Nepal.
