NEPSE Closes with a Sharp Loss of 33.08 Points; Finance Sector Leads Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a sharp decline today, plunging by 33.08 points (1.26%) to close at 2,576.50. This follows a double-digit drop of 21.12 points in the previous trading session.
The market opened at 2,613.7 and demonstrated volatility throughout the day, with an intraday high of 2,613.95 and a low of 2,545.34. The total turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 5.67 Arba, achieved through 69,923 transactions involving 13,174,379 shares of 308 listed companies.
Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) dominated the turnover leaderboard, registering trades worth Rs. 34.94 crores and closing at Rs. 238 per share.
On the gainers' front, Nadep Laghubittiya bittya Sanstha Ltd. (NADEP) emerged as the top performer, posting a 4.01% increase in its share price.
Conversely, four companies suffered a steep decline of 10% each.
Sectoral performance revealed that the Finance Index bore the brunt of the fall, slumping by 5.19%, while the Trading Index saw a modest rise of 0.06%.
