NEPSE Drops by 24.97 Points to Close at 2,750.87; Overall Volume Reached to Rs. 9.13 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a loss of 24.97 points (0.89%) today, closing at 2,750.87. This follows a gain of 17.80 points in the previous trading session.
The market opened at 2,795.58 and exhibited volatility, reaching an intraday low of 2,747.65 and a high of 2,795.78. The session saw robust activity, with a turnover of Rs. 9.13 Arba through 96,677 transactions, involving 20,332,066 shares from 320 companies.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd (JOSHI) led in turnover, recording trades worth Rs. 30.30 crores and closing at Rs. 451.70 per share.
Meanwhile, Khanikhola Hydropower Co. Ltd. (KKHC) stood out as the top gainer, hitting the upper circuit with a 9.99% increase.
On the losing end, Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited (LICN) and Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SMB) faced the sharpest declines, both dropping by 10%.
Sector-wise, performance was mixed. The Hydropower Index emerged as the top-performing sector with a 0.59% gain, while the Trading Index suffered the steepest loss, declining by 8.72%.
