NEPSE Falls 27.32 Points After 6-Day Rally; Turnover Hits 3-Year High at Rs. 16.20 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,536.11 levels with a loss of 27.32 points or 1.06% from the previous trading day's close. Yesterday, the index gained a huge 75.33 points.
The trading day commenced with the index opening at 2,573.23 points, dipping to an intraday low of 2,513.43 points, and peaking at an intraday high of 2,600.41 points before settling at its closing value. This fluctuation indicates the market's attempt to breach the resistance zone at 2,600, although it failed to close above this level. The forthcoming market sessions will determine whether the index will break through or retreat from this resistance zone.
During the session, a total of 311 scrips were traded through 188,865 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 40,747,226, leading to a substantial turnover of Rs. 16.20 Arba. The market capitalization was reported at Rs. 40.24 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 13.83 Kharba.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) topped the market in turnover, achieving a value of Rs. 36.07 crores and closing at Rs. 663.80.
In terms of stock performance, the two companies marked the highest gain, hitting the positive circuit with a 10% increase respectively.
On the contrary, Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited (CKHL) faced the steepest decline, falling by 7.79%.
Analyzing sector indices, only two sector indices ended in the green. The Finance Index led the gains with a 1.16% increase, while the Trading Index experienced the highest loss, declining by 3.09%.
