NEPSE Falls by 36.83 Points to Settle at 2,749.57 Level; Intraday Turnover Declined to Rs. 12.24 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a significant decline today, closing at 2,749.57 points, down by 36.83 points or 1.32% from the previous session. This contrasts with the previous session, where the index had gained 3.80 points, closing at 2,786.40 points.

The trading day began with the index at 2,791.09 points and saw considerable fluctuations, peaking at an intraday high of 2,800.28 points and dipping to a low of 2,727.57 points before settling at the final value.

The session was characterized by active trading, with 322 scrips exchanged across 146,204 transactions, involving 28,346,246 shares and generating a turnover of Rs. 12.24 Arba. Market capitalization rose to Rs. 43.66 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 15.40 Kharba.

 

Goodwill Finance Limited (GFCL) topped the market in turnover, recording Rs. 37.65 Crore and closing at Rs. 1,178 per share.

 

Two companies reached the upper circuit limit of 10%.

 

On the downside, Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) suffered the steepest loss, declining by 10%.

 

Among sector indices, only one closed in the green. The Mutual Index led the gains with a 0.10% increase, while the Life Insurance sector recorded the largest decline, dropping by 2.09%.
