NEPSE Gains 14.81 Points; Newly Listed TSHL and GCIL Experience Divergent Trajectories with Upper and Lower Circuits Respectively

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,080.86 points, as the index rose by a 14.81 points or 0.71% compared to the previous day's closing. On the last trading day of the previous week, the index experienced a minimal gain of 5.13 points.

The session kicked off with the index opening at 2,065.4 and briefly touching an intraday low of 2,057.70. However, the market reached an intraday high of 2,087.93, before finally settling at the closing value of 2,080.86.

During today's trading, a total of 271 scrips were exchanged through 95,965 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 9,718,754, representing a turnover of Rs. 3.018 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 30.93 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.93 Kharba.

Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd Promoter Share (NICLPO) recorded the highest turnover followed by the debutante Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited (GCIL), which recorded an impressive amount of Rs. 23.15 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 509.00.

Similarly, Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) on its first day of trading gained the highest with all it could in a day to close at Rs. 280.50.

Meanwhile, Ghorahi Cement Industry Limited (GCIL) technically hit the lower circuit with a lost of 9.99 percent.

In terms of sector indices, Finance Index, Manufacturing And Processing, Microfinance Index and Others Index, closed red while the remaining closed green. Non Life Insurance gained the most with 2.21 percent positive change while Microfinance Index lost the most.
