NEPSE Gains Impressive 21.27 Points to Close at 2,140.97; Hotels and Tourism Sector Gains Most Among Sub-Indices

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed an incline of 21.27 points today, an increase of 1.00%, closing at 2,140.97 points. This follows a gain of 15.46 points in the previous trading session.

The trading day commenced with the index at 2,122 points, reaching an intraday low of 2,121.26 points. The index experienced a high of 2,147.12 points before settling at the closing value of 2,140.97 points.

Today's trading session involved 325 stocks across 80,838 transactions, with a total trading volume of 14,014,622 shares. The overall turnover reached Rs. 6 Arba with a market capitalization of Rs. 33.95 Kharba and a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.59 Kharba.

NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 21.71 Crores and closing at Rs. 742 per share.

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) gained the highest for the day, surging by 5.25%.

Conversely, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC) lost all 10% today.

In sector performance, three sector indices concluded the day in negative territory. The "Hotels and Tourism Index" recorded the highest sectoral gain of 2.25%, while the "Finance Index" saw the highest loss, declining by 2.07%.
