NEPSE Gains Massive 59.87 Points To Close At 4 Months High; Investors Confidence Led Turnover To Hit Rs. 3.88 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 1,983.95 today after gaining 59.87 points from the last trading day's closing. This is a gain of 3.11%. The index gained 56.86 points yesterday.

The chart of the stock market index has shifted upward recently following the formation of a new government and the appointment of Bishnu Prasad Paudel as Finance Minister. In fact, the share market index was just over 1,100 points when Paudel took office as finance minister in October 2015, and it had risen to 1,800 points by the time he left office in August 2016. Additionally, in 2021, the market reached an all-time high of 3200 levels. This is a contributing factor in the growing investor confidence that has enabled the market to rise with respectable volumes.

The index opened at 1,933.67 which is also an intraday low. It made an intraday high of 1,998.97 and closed at 1,983.95.

261 scrips traded hands via 63,067 transactions. A total of 12,029,603 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.88 Arba in turnover amount. This is higher than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 2.097 Arba. This is the highest turnover since 3rd August 2022.

Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) shares traded the most whereas Laxmi Bank Limited (LBL) the highest turnover of Rs. 20.94 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 200 per share.

Siddhartha Insurance Ltd. (SIL), Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL), AJOD Insurance Limited (AIL) and Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest 10% and hit a positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Adhikhola Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (AKBSL) lost the highest 2.63% today.

All 13 sectors closed green, where the Investment sector gained the highest 6.43% today.
