NEPSE Halts Trading of National Microfinance Laghubitta and Summit Laghubitta; Companies Sign Merger Agreement

National Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMFBS) and Summit Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMFDB) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the merger on Ashwin 26, 2079 at 5 PM.
According to the Merger and Acquisition of Banks and Financial Institutions (Regulation 61 of 2073), Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has notified that the transaction of the two microfinance companies has been halted from today i.e. Ashwin 27, 2079.
The current paid-up capital of NMFBS is Rs 58.66 Crores, while SMFDB's paid-up capital is currently Rs 49.4 Crores. As of October 12, 2022, NMFBS and SMFDB's last trading prices were Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 963.90, respectively.
Following this, NEPSE has halted the trading of both the companies in the secondary market of Nepal.
