NEPSE Index Continues Downward Trend with 22.73-Point Drop; Finance Index Gain Highest

The NEPSE Index continued its downward trajectory, falling by 22.73 points (0.86%) to close at 2,610.21. This decline follows a previous session's drop of 13.09 points.

The trading session commenced with the index at 2,636.30 points, reaching an intraday high of 2,651.19 points before falling to a low of 2,601.91 points. By the end of the day, the NEPSE settled at 2,610.21 points.

Market activity involved 317 companies across 87,036 transactions, with a total turnover of Rs. 6.85 Arba. The total number of shares traded was 15,428,724.

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the turnover with a transaction value of Rs. 34.73 Crore, with its shares closing at Rs. 2,254 per share.

On the positive side, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) posted the highest gain of 10%.

Conversely, Asian Hydropower Limited (AHL) faced the steepest decline, dropping 6.88%.

Sector-wise, the Life Insurance Index recorded the most significant decrease, falling by 1.87%, while the Finance Index saw the largest gain of 0.43%.
