NEPSE Index Continues Upward Momentum, Closes at 2,364.63 With Turnover of Rs. 12.05 Arba in Nearly 3 Years

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed a remarkable surge, closing at an impressive 2,364.63 with a substantial gain of 54.04 points or 2.33% from the previous trading day's close. This continued upward momentum follows yesterday's successful breach of the 2300 level, highlighting significant positive sentiment among traders and investors.

The trading session commenced with the index opening at 2,323.68 points, reaching an intraday low of 2,311.93 points and an intraday high of 2,364.76 points before settling at its closing value of 2,364.63.

During the day's trading, a total of 306 scrips were exchanged through 149,681 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 32,095,937, resulting in a considerable turnover of Rs. 12.05 Arba. This marks the highest turnover in three years, with the last peak recorded during the bull market on August 31, 2021, at Rs. 13.25 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 37.51 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 12.86 Kharba.

Leading the market, Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) recorded the highest turnover with a value of Rs. 23.55 crores, closing at Rs. 207.40.

In terms of individual stock performance, Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL) achieved the highest gain of 10%, reaching the positive circuit for the day.

Conversely, CITIZENS MUTUAL FUND 2 (CMF2) saw the steepest decline, losing 9.90% for the day.

Regarding sector indices, all sectors closed in the green. The Trading Index registered the highest gain with an increase of 7.30%, while the Mutual Fund sector posted the smallest gain of 0.08%.
