NEPSE Index Drops by 59.02 Points; Finance Sector Suffers Significant Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed a sharp drop of 59.02 points (2.28%), closing at 2,529.33, following a modest gain in the previous session.

The index fluctuated throughout the day, starting at 2,607.86 points, reaching an intraday high of 2,608.43, and dipping to a low of 2,517.79 before settling.

In today's session, a total of 329 scrips were traded through 77,153 transactions, resulting in a volume of 13,535,903 shares. This activity led to a turnover of Rs. 5.66 Arba.

Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) led the turnover chart, trading Rs. 21.13 crore worth of shares and closing at Rs. 1,420.

Himalayan Hydropower Limited (HHL) achieved the day’s highest gain of 9.84%.

Meanwhile, four companies hit the negative, marking the session’s biggest loss.

Sector-wise, the Finance Index led with a 5.56% decrease, while the Mutual Fund Index declined by the least 0.48%.
