NEPSE Index Gains Minimal 0.29% While Trading Sector Leads; GILB Hits Positive Circuit

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index registered a slight increase of 0.29% today, adding 6.22 points to close at 2,085.30 points. This follows a previous session loss of 3.97 points.

The trading session began with the index at 2,087.03 points, fluctuating to an intraday low of 2,077.56 points and reaching a high of 2,092.71 points before settling at 2,085.30 points by the close.

Today's trading involved 315 stocks across 53,999 transactions, with a trading volume of 8,305,786 shares. The total turnover amounted to Rs. 4.08 Arba, and the market capitalization stood at Rs. 33.06 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 11.22 Kharba.

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the market in turnover, achieving Rs. 20.92 crores and closing at Rs. 919.

Meanwhile, Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (GILB) recorded the highest gain, surging 10% and hitting the positive circuit.

On the downside, Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited (BNHC) experienced a notable decline, dropping 5.51% to close at Rs. 635.

In sector performance, three sector indices ended in the red. The "Trading Index" saw the highest sectoral gain of 2.70%, whereas the "Hydropower Index" recorded the largest loss of 0.61%.
