NEPSE Index Plummets by 0.09% To Settle at 2,077.78 Levels; Finance Sector Suffers Most
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index registered a decrease of 0.09% today, lessening 1.93 points to close at 2,077.78 levels. This follows a previous session loss of 5.58 points.
The trading session began with the index at 2,080.56 points, fluctuating to an intraday high of 2,089.10 points and reaching a low of 2,073.47 points before settling at 2,077.78 points by the close.
Today's trading involved 322 stocks across 59,650 transactions, with a trading volume of 8,813,374 shares. The total turnover amounted to Rs. 4.38 Arba, and the market capitalization stood at Rs. 32.94 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 11.16 Kharba.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market in turnover, achieving Rs. 18.68 crores and closing at Rs. 615.
Two companies recorded the highest gain, surging 10% each and hitting the positive circuit.
On the downside, Mai Khola Hydropower Limited (MKHL) experienced a notable decline, dropping 6.40% to close at Rs. 468.
In sector performance, five sector indices ended in the green. The "Trading Index" saw the highest sectoral gain of 1.96%, whereas the "Finance Index" recorded the largest loss of 2.08%.
