NEPSE Index Plunges 55.86 Points, Extends Losing Streak; All 13 Sectors Closed Red

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index continued its downward trend, dropping by 55.86 points, or 2.06%, to close at 2,646.03 points on the latest trading day. This follows a previous session decline of 25.46 points, marking a significant dip in market performance.

The session began with the index at 2,702.57 points, reaching an intraday high of 2,706.54 points before sliding to a low of 2,637.71 points. By the close of the day, the NEPSE settled at 2,646.03 points.

Trading activity remained strong, with 327 companies being traded across 111,986 transactions, involving 21,048,911 shares. The total turnover for the day stood at Rs. 9.43 Arba. The market’s total capitalization was Rs. 42.07 Kharba, with the float market capitalization recorded at Rs. 14.77 Kharba.

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the day's turnover, recording a transaction value of Rs. 37 Crore, with its shares closing at Rs. 2,085 per share.

On the other side, Hathway Investment Nepal Limited (HATHY) posted the day's largest gain, climbing 8.98%.

In contrast, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (USLB) suffered the steepest loss, plunging 7.78%.

Among sectors, the Hotel and Tourism Index registered the largest decline, falling 2.67%, while the Investment Index saw the smallest drop at 0.34%.
