NEPSE Index Sees 0.24% Uptick, Manufacturing And Processing Sector Gains Most Among Sub-Indices

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,766.38 points today, marking a single-digit gain of 6.70 points or 0.24% from the previous trading day's close. This incline follows an increase of 108.35 points in the prior session.
The trading day began with the index opening at 2,772. 84 points. Throughout the session, the index reached an intraday high of 2,811.15 points and an intraday low of 2,744.86 points before settling at its closing value of 2,766.38 points.
In today's session, a total of 322 scrips were traded through 209,965 transactions, resulting in a substantial volume of 50,946,832 shares. This activity led to an impressive turnover of Rs. 20.07 Arba. The market capitalization for the day stood at Rs. 43.91 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 15 Kharba.
Shivam Cements Ltd (SHIVM) led the market in turnover, achieving a value of Rs. 1.2 Arba and closing at Rs. 701.80.
In terms of stock performance, six companies emerged as the highest gainers, each hitting the upper circuit limit of 10%.
Conversely, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) lost the highest 8.04% for today.
In terms of sector indices, six sector indices closed in green today. The "Manufacturing And Processing" saw the highest gain of 5.87%, while the "Hotels And Tourism Index" saw the highest loss of 1.27%.
