NEPSE Index Sees 0.80% Uptick, Banking Sector Gains Most Among Sub-Indices

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed an incline of 16.29 points today, an increase of 0.80%, closing at 2,053.38 points. This follows a loss of 14.83 points in the previous trading session.
The trading day commenced with the index at 2038.7 points, reaching an intraday low of 2,030.38 points. The index experienced a high of 2,053.38 points before settling at the closing value of 2,053.38 points.
Today's trading session involved 323 stocks across 44,169 transactions, with a total trading volume of 7,165,735 shares. The overall turnover reached Rs. 2.99 Arba.
Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 19.13 Crores and closing at Rs. 873 per share.
Likewise, Himalaya Urja Bikas Company Limited (HURJA) gained the highest 9.74% for the day.
Conversely, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) lost all 10% today.
In sector performance, only two sector indices concluded the day in negative territory. The "Banking Index" recorded the highest sectoral gain of 2.04%, while the " Finance Index" saw the highest loss, declining by 0.83%.
