NEPSE Index Sees Triple-Digit Decline With Turnover of Rs. 18.64 Arba; Three Companies Hit Positive Circuit

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a significant drop today, closing at 2,782.60 points, down by 111.96 points or 3.86% from the previous session. In contrast, the previous session saw a drop of 79.88 points, ending at 2,894.57 points.
The trading day saw the index open at 2,899.8 points and fluctuate significantly, reaching an intraday high of 2,902.75 points and a low of 2,770.39 points before settling at its closing value.
Intense trading activity marked the session, with 330 scrips traded across 234,360 transactions, involving 43,868,970 shares and resulting in a turnover of Rs. 18.64 Arba. The market capitalization soared to Rs. 44.19 Kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 15.60 Kharba.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, with Rs. 65.42 Crore, closing at Rs. 881 per share.
Three companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10%.
Meanwhile, Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) experienced the biggest loss, dropping by 10%.
Analyzing sector indices, only one sector index ended in the green. The Hotel and Tourism Index led the gains with a 0.43% increase, while the Banking SubIndex experienced the highest loss, declining by 4.92%.
