NEPSE Index Skyrockets Past 2,400 Levels, Gains Significant 59.68 Points While Turnover Surged to Rs. 15.54 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed a remarkable increase surging to 2,400 levels, closing at an impressive 2,424.32 with a substantial gain of 59.68 points or 2.52% from the previous trading day's close. This continued upward momentum follows a day before yesterday's successful breach of the 2300 level, highlighting significant positive sentiment among traders and investors.

The trading session commenced with the index opening at 2,373.53 points, reaching an intraday low of 2,355.59 points and an intraday high of 2,459.94 points before settling at its closing value of 2,424.32.

During the day's trading, a total of 312 scrips were exchanged through 184,712 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 39,938,237, resulting in a considerable turnover of Rs. 15.54 Arba. This marks the highest turnover in three years, with the last peak recorded during the bull market on August 29, 2021, at Rs. 15.65 Arba. The market capitalization stood at Rs. 38.46 Kharba, and the float market capitalization was Rs. 13.23 Kharba.

Leading the market, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) recorded the highest turnover with a value of Rs. 42.46 crores, closing at Rs. 997.80.

In terms of individual stock performance, five companies achieved the highest gain of 10% each, reaching the positive circuit for the day.

Conversely, Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY) saw the steepest decline, losing 5.76% for the day.

Regarding sector indices, two sectors closed in the red. The Banking Index registered the highest gain with an increase of 6.28%, while the Finance sector posted the highest loss of 1.27%.
