NEPSE Index Slightly Dips Post-Tihar While Turnover Reaches Rs. 4.20 Arba; Non-Life Insurance Leads Gain by 1.06%

The first trading session on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) after the Tihar festival wrapped up with the NEPSE index slightly down, closing at 2,677.40 points—a marginal drop of 0.21 points from the previous session's close. The last trading day before Tihar had witnessed a loss of 14.43 points.

Opening at 2,678.97, the index fluctuated between an intraday low of 2,670.12 and a high of 2,696.85.

The day’s trading activity involved 302 stocks, processed through 47,515 transactions. This resulted in the exchange of 9,713,730 shares, amounting to a total turnover of Rs. 4.20 Arba.

Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 29.9 crores, closing at a market price of Rs. 1,559.80.

Super Mai Hydropower Limited (SMH) hit the positive circuit today.

Meanwhile, Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) faced a significant loss, dropping by a maximum of 10%.

Sector-wise, seven indices ended in green, with the "Non-Life Insurance Index" leading the gainers by 1.06%. Conversely, the "Banking Index" saw the biggest sectoral loss, down by 0.81%.
