NEPSE Index Surges 1.17% in Today's Trading Session: Finance Sector Leads with 7.67% Gain

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,957.75 points today, gaining 34.29 points, or 1.17%, from the previous day. This rise follows a strong performance, despite an 8.18-point loss in the prior session, indicating sustained upward momentum in the market.
The trading day began with the index opening at 2,936.62 points. Throughout the session, the index fluctuated, reaching an intraday low of 2,883.81 points and a high of 2,959.19 points before settling at its closing value.
The session was marked by intense trading activity, with 332 scrips traded across 244,019 transactions, resulting in a substantial volume of 51,230,340 shares. This activity led to an impressive turnover of Rs. 23.43 Arba. The market capitalization for the day stood at Rs. 46.97 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 16.45 Kharba.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, with a value of Rs. 86.58 crore, closing at Rs. 1,019.00 per share.
Ten companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10%.
Meanwhile, Mandakini Hydropower Limited (MHL) suffered the highest loss, dropping by 10%.
In sector performance, three sector indices concluded the day in negative territory. The "Mutual Index" recorded a loss of 0.90%, while the "Finance Index" saw the highest gain, inclining by 7.67%.
