NEPSE Index Surges By 0.42% to Close at 2,082.09 Levels; Hydropower Sector Saw Highest Gain While Turnover Stood at Rs. 5.49 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index recorded an incline of 0.42% today, rising by 8.90 points to close at 2,082.09 points. This follows a loss of 4.59 points in the previous trading session.

The trading day commenced with the index at 2,088.14 points, while marking the intraday high of 2,089.15 points. The index saw a low of 2,072.23 points before settling at the closing value of 2,082.09 points.

Today's trading session involved 314 stocks across 71,948 transactions, with a total trading volume of 11,634,618 shares. The overall turnover reached Rs. 5.49 Arba, with a market capitalization of Rs. 33.01 Kharba and a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.17 Kharba.

NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market in terms of turnover, achieving Rs. 41.87 crores and closing at Rs. 661 per share.

Three companies experienced the highest gains, each surging by 10% and hitting the positive circuit.

Conversely, Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL) faced a significant loss, dropping by 8.67%.

In sector performance, six sector indices concluded the day in negative territory. The "Hydropower Index" recorded the highest sectoral gain of 2.00%, while the "Mutual Fund Index" saw the largest loss, declining by 3.74%.
