NEPSE Index Surges By 32 Points To Close at 2,568.11 Levels; Microfinance Index Leads with 6.83% Gain

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,568.11 levels with a gain of 32 points or 1.26% from the previous trading day's close. Yesterday, the index faced a loss of 27.32 points.

The trading day commenced with the index opening at 2,540.14 points, dipping to an intraday low of 2,518.47 points, and peaking at an intraday high of 2,572.88 points before settling at its closing value.

During the session, a total of 320 scrips were traded through 159,757 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 35,594,868, leading to a substantial turnover of Rs. 14.13 Arba. The market capitalization was reported at Rs. 40.74 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 14.03 Kharba.

Sanima GIC Insurance Limited (SGIC) topped the market in turnover, achieving a value of Rs. 34.17 crores and closing at Rs. 735.

In terms of stock performance, three companies marked the highest gain, hitting the positive circuit with a 10% increase respectively.

On the contrary, Miteri Development Bank Limited (MDB) faced the steepest decline, falling by 7.65%.

After analyzing sector indices, four sector indices ended in red. The Microfinance Index led the gains with a 6.83% increase, while the Investment Index experienced the highest loss, declining by 0.73%.
