NEPSE Index Surges Past 3,000 Points with All-Time High Turnover of Rs. 29.95 Arba; Three Companies Hit Positive Circuit

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index continued its bullish run today breaching 3000 levels, closing at 3,000.81 points, marking a significant gain of 43.05 points or 1.45% from the previous day. This follows a strong performance in the prior session, where the index gained 34.29 points, indicating sustained upward momentum in the market.

The trading day began with the index opening at 2,979.6 points. Throughout the session, the index fluctuated, reaching an intraday low of 2,975.11 points and a high of 3,036.64 points before settling at its closing value.

The session was marked by intense trading activity, with 334 scrips traded across 311,536 transactions with 68,980,346 shares being traded, resulting in a historic turnover of Rs. 29.95 Arba—the highest ever in NEPSE's history. The market capitalization soared to Rs. 47.65 Kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 16.80 Kharba, reflecting significant investor confidence.

Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, with a value of Rs. 91.33 Crores, closing at Rs. 985 per share.

Three companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10%.

Meanwhile, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) suffered the highest loss, dropping by 10%.

 

Sector-wise, the "Banking Index" led the gains with a 5.65% increase, while the "Finance Index" had the highest loss at 3.05%, rounding out a day of widespread market optimism.
