NEPSE Index Witnessed Minimal Loss of 0.19% While Volume Stood at Rs. 21.71 Arba; Trading Index Suffers Steepest Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,755.62 points today, witnessing a loss of 5.29 points or 0.19% from the previous trading day's close. This follows an increase of 64.25 points in the previous session, pushing the index past the 2,700 mark.
The trading day began with the index opening at 2,772.24 points. Throughout the session, the index reached an intraday low of 2,742.53 points and an intraday high of 2,805.57 points before settling at its closing value of 2,755.62 points.
In today's session, a total of 332 scrips were traded through 229,813 transactions, resulting in a substantial volume of 51,321,629 shares. This activity led to an impressive turnover of Rs. 21.71 Arba while the market capitalization for the day stood at Rs. 43.72 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 15.10 Kharba.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the market in turnover, achieving a value of Rs. 59.75 crores and closing at Rs. 770.
In terms of stock performance, five companies emerged as the highest gainers, each hitting the upper circuit limit of 10%.
Conversely, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) experienced the steepest decline, falling by 9.13%.
Analyzing the sector indices, six sector indices ended the day in positive territory. The Life Insurance Index led the gains with a 3.69% increase, while the Trading Index experienced the highest loss, declining by 3.54%.
