NEPSE Index Witnessed Minimal Loss of 0.27%; Hotels And Tourism Index Suffers Steepest Decline

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 2,923.46 points today, marking a loss of 8.18 points, or 0.27%, from the previous day. This follows a strong performance in the prior session, during which the index gained 70.81 points, indicating sustained upward momentum in the market.

The trading day began with the index opening at 2,947.7 points. Throughout the session, the index fluctuated, reaching an intraday low of 2,891.43 points and a high of 2,971.69 points before settling at its closing value.

The session was marked by intense trading activity, with 332 scrips traded across 241,665 transactions, resulting in a substantial volume of 52,764,832 shares. This activity led to an impressive turnover of Rs. 21.15 Arba. The market capitalization for the day stood at Rs. 46.43 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was Rs. 16.24 Kharba.

 

Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market in turnover, with a value of Rs. 81.99 crore, closing at Rs. 2,178.00 per share.

 

Four companies hit the upper circuit limit of 10%.

 

Meanwhile, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) suffered the highest loss, dropping by 9.93%.

 

In sector performance, eight sector indices concluded the day in negative territory. The "Hotels And Tourism Index" recorded a loss of 2.25%, while the "Finance Index" saw the highest gain, inclining by 1.57%.
