NEPSE Returns to 2000 Levels, Gains 28.62 Points to Close at 2027.51; All Sectors Closed Green Led By Microfinance and Hydropower

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a gain of 1.43%, or 28.62 points, settling at 2,027.51 points at the close of trading today, following a gain of 24.39 points in the previous session.

Opening at 2,000.7, the trading day witnessed fluctuations as the index reached an intraday high of 2,027.59 before dipping to an intraday low of 1,999.14.

The Securities Board's reduction in broker commissions, coupled with decreased bank interest rates for Jestha, signals a proactive drive to bolster market dynamics while declining deposit interest rates channel investable liquidity into the banking sector.

With a bustling trading environment, 320 stocks were exchanged in 59,856 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 9,855,285 with a total turnover of Rs. 4.08 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 32.14 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.89 Kharba.

 

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) emerged as the day's highlight with a turnover of Rs. 15.81 Crore, closing at a market price of Rs. 770.00.

 

Similarly, Seven Companies hit a positive circuit for today.

 

Conversely, Himalaya Urja Bikas Company Limited (HURJA) faced a decline, losing 4.64% to close at Rs. 290.00.

 

In terms of sector indices, all the sectors closed in green today. The "Microfinance Index" saw the highest gain of 3.44%, while the "Trading Index" saw the lowest gain of 0.03%.
